2015: Spain's Year of Change?

2015: SPAIN'S YEAR OF CHANGE? is a feature documentary film currently in production that will offer a critical look back at what the then emergent left populist party Podemos proclaimed would be “the year of change” during “the march of change” it led through the center of Madrid in February 2015. The film will combine extensive footage of political events, social movements and cultural production, as well as traditional interviews with a wide variety of political agents and spontaneous interviews recorded in public places filmed in 2015 with fresh footage and another round of interviews to be conducted during the summer of 2024. The film is projected to premiere in 2025 to mark the 10th anniversary of an historic election cycle that signified a major shift in Spanish society with impacts that continue to influence Spain today, even as the political cycle that began in 2015 has come to an end in 2023 with another series of historic elections.
